Leanne approached me requiring a brand new website for her new business venture, Beauty By Leanne. Leanne had a good idea of how she wanted the website to look. Having worked within the beauty industry for over 10 years, Leanne was accutely aware of how other beauticians advertised themselves online and wanted to differentiate herself as much as she could.

 

In order to meet Leanne's design brief, the website needed to look and feel different to others out there offering similar services. Given how saturated the beauty market is, this required extensive research to determine what the competition was doing right and where Leanne could improve. Most beautician websites look a little generic with very little use of colour favouring a more clinical look. However, in doing this, a lot of the websites looked and felt the same. As such, it was decided that the use of colour would help Leanne's website stand out from the crowd. However, Leanne didn't want to go too bold. I opted for the use of soft pastels and blush colours to help create a feeling of elegance and class - both of which are synonomous with bridal makeup and beauty treatments. The use of colour also mirrors the colours used in her logo.

A lot of existing beautician websites also lack a lot of general information, again favouring a minimilistic approach, but at the expense of meaningful information for the end user. Leanne's website provides a lot of detail about various packages as well as what prospective clients can expect when using her services as well as a blog, which helps to answer a lot of questions people may have. The blog can also be used to keep her clients keep up to date with her recent work and other general news.

The website boasts a clean and elegant look with ease of navigation remaining a central focus throughout. The site features an extensive gallery to showcase her work as well prominent links to her social media channels.​
